The "best of the best"
Since their foundation in the thirities, the success of this family business Hein has been built on their guarantee, of producing top quality products, an innovative spirit and comprehensive servce. Over the last five decades this friendly little butchers shop has turned into an International cooked meat, sausage and convenience food manufacturer. For us, as a medium sized company, traditional recipes are as important as new product development and speciality items.
First address
HEIN can look back on a long and proud history, in the thirties, master butcher Georg Hein laid the foundation for the company by opening his butcher shop in Görlitz. Business was flourishing until the Second World War started, Hein’s butchers shop in Moltkestraße was considered the first stop for gourmets. Dieter Hein, his son continued the family tradition and in 1961 opened a small butcher shop in Osnabrück. Fourteen years later, he started the meat manufacturing plant in Hasbergen, near to Osnabrück.

International specialties
In the following years the company grew, the factory was continually expanding. The Hein group was expanding internationally by setting up new partnerships, factories, businesses and the distribution of speciality products from the whole of Europe. As a result of this ethos, it ensured the demand for HEIN products increased throughout Europe and the USA. New joint ventures with our international partners, Vienna Beef Chicago/USA, Lunden Food Turku/Finland and Casa Westfalia Vulpellac/Spain were formed. In 1996 EG Fleischwarenfabrik Dieter Hein returned to Görlitz, and restarted production there, they also started operations in Stettin Poland and HEIN POL was founded. Dieter Hein Euro Food Service GmbH, the international trading arm of the company was formed in 1997.

Family business with ideas
Dieter Hein together with his sons, Georg and Claus Hein, advanced the development of the company in Hasbergen-Gaste. The EG Fleischwarenfabrik, Hasbergen and Görlitz is managed by Dieter and Georg Hein. In a modern company, sausage and meat product specialties are produced for whole Europe and are promoted with our slogan "more ideas – more taste".
